BELLINGHAM - Gambling goes from vice to virtue at the second annual "Compete for a Cause" cribbage tournament.

The fundraiser, sponsored by Boundary Bay Brewery, will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, in the brewery's beer garden, 1107 Railroad Ave.

All proceeds will go to the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, which helps people deal with conflict in creative and healthy ways.

Last year's competition was sold out, so organizers increased the number of participants from 64 to 96 this year. Registration forms are available online at www.whatcomdrc.org or www.bbaybrewery.com. Fill out and bring the form, along with $25, to the bartender at Boundary Bay.

The event will include prizes, food and a silent auction of handmade cribbage boards donated by local artists.
