Upset by article about Olympic gymnastics

The article on the front page of a recent sports section titled "U.S. flops as China wins gold" was a disgusting piece of trash. Why in the world would you put a story like that in our paper? Did you read it? Did you watch the events?

We are deeply disappointed in The Bellingham Herald for printing such a negative, demeaning article about the American gymnastics team. How about for the rest of the Olympics you tell us how wonderful our athletes did even if they placed 15th?

We think that would be more worthy of our paper than the garbage the reporter was spouting. This kind of negativity in the American media is why we watch the Olympics on Canadian TV, where they support their athletes and congratulate them on their achievements.
