If you can't stand the heat, then get your buns into the newsroom.

It doesn't matter what the temperature is outside, inside The Bellingham Herald building we've got two choices: hotter than heck and ice cold. In summer, it usually hovers around the latter, so dressing can be a challenge.

That's where this light, feminine Hazel coat comes in. It's the perfect solution for my air-conditioning conundrum. In dove gray with white dots, it's cheery enough to look appropriate in the sun, and it'll stave off the artificial chill of the icy air indoors or add warmth when summer nights get nippy.

This belted trench is perfect for layering, and it's available for $135 at Unique West on Cornwall Avenue downtown.
