BLAINE — Blaine School Board will have a vacancy starting in September.
Pebble Griffin, who has been on the board since 1997, turned in a letter of resignation June 23.
Griffin, who represents District 3, will remain on the board through the Sept. 22 meeting.
Anyone interested in filling the open position may submit a formal letter of interest between Aug. 4 and 22. Applicants must live within the boundaries of District 3: Birch Point Road on the north and the school district boundary on the east. The area includes Birch Bay and Point Whitehorn and surrounding areas.
The newly selected member will be sworn in at the Nov. 24 meeting and would have to formally run for election in November 2009.
