BELLINGHAM — A drag show will highlight Queer Awareness Week, which begins today at Whatcom Community College.

Queer Straight Alliance will host the drag show at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Local drag queen Betty Desire will be master of ceremonies at the event, at the Syre Student Center Auditorium.

Tickets for the show cost $5, or $3 for students, with half the proceeds benefiting Just Us Youth, a local group that helps teens who don’t feel comfortable coming out to friends and family.
