More plastics can be recycled

BELLINGHAM — Sanitary Service Co. has expanded its recycling program to accept more plastics at its drop-off center.
SSC will accept plant pots, trays, buckets with metal handles removed and plastic “blister” packaging used on commercial items like batteries and toiletries.
The plastics will not be collected by curbside recycling pickup. They must be dropped off at SSC’s Bellingham Transfer Station, 1001 Roeder Ave., between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
