HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY: Ferndale's Morrison and George compete in Class 3A State Championships

Ferndale's Megan Morrison and Lee George were the only Northwest Conference representatives at the cross country Class 3A State Championships at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco on Saturday, Nov. 7.

On the girls' side, Morrison ran the course in 20 minutes, 31 seconds to place 61st overall. Lee George placed 77th overall and ran a 17:07.

Top squad for the boys' race was North Central with 47 points and Shadle Park finished first with 59 points for the girls' race. Ben Johnston led top team North Central, capturing the state title with a 15:15 time. Glacier Peak's Amy-Eloise Neale finished first for the girls' state title with a 18:08.
