PREP VOLLEYBALL: Lummi secures state berth with two Class 1B Tri-District wins

The Lummi volleyball team won two games in the Class 1B Tri-District Tournament to secure a spot in the state tournament on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Coupeville.

The Blackhawks soundly defeated Eastside Prep 25-5, 25-22, 25-9 in their first match of the day, advancing them to a winner-to-state matchup against Mount Rainier Lutheran.

It took five games for Lummi to defeat Mount Rainier Lutheran, but the Blackhawks secured the victory 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 15-9 for the win and the bid to state.

Rosie Jefferson led Lummi with 25 kills on the day. Kyla Frajman had 17 blocks and Reyna Jones finished the day with 16 digs.

Amanda Humphreys and Gillian Roberts led Lummi in serving. Humphreys, who had 13 total aces, was 56 of 57 from the service line and Gillian Roberts was 58 of 60 from the service line.
