Whether it’s Yogoman Burning Band at Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, or Sweetheart of the Rodeo when it was a regular at the Grand Avenue Ale House, there’s definitely something special about Wednesday nights. You can add another musical artist to the Humpday Regulars Club: DJ TripleCrown has been rocking the dome, the Wingdome that is.

Leading Reggae Revolution on Wednesdays, DJ TripleCrown has been developing a following among Bellingham’s reggae-friendly crowd. He’s also spinning Friday Night Fire at the Callaloo Carribean Kitchen, often with special guests and to a packed house that dances long into the night.

DJ TripleCrown counts the Rastafari movement, as well as followers of the Rasta faith, as an influence. This influence leads to spin choices that touch on themes found in the belief, like brotherhood, the search for one’s identity and occasionally the use of cannabis. Needless to say, this might not be a show for everyone, though open-minded and reggae-loving individuals should check him out.

You can catch DJ TripleCrown free on Wednesdays at the Wingdome, 902 N. State St. Fridays see him up the street at the Callaloo, 1212 N. State St. Cover is $2. Shows start at 10:30 p.m. To hear some of DJ TripleCrown’s remixes, visit www.myspace.com/triplecrownsound.
