Anxious to get his songs out there, Kasey Anderson started his tour in on Sept. 5 at the Green Frog Acoustic Tavern. He'll travel all over the states, but says he's most excited to check out Austin, Texas, for its music scene.

Anderson’s second album, "The Reckoning," was released Sept. 11 on Terra Soul Records.

Compared to his first self-released album, "Dead Roses," Anderson says he feels he's matured as a songwriter. He says he used to deal with a lot of writer's block, but has found that material for songs is everywhere and that he's taking full advantage now of every writing opportunity.

Anderson grew up in Portland but has lived in Bellingham for the past 10 years. He began playing guitar when he was 12, growing up in a house that was always filled with music.

Some of his influences include Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Steve Earle.
