Gaither Vocal Band coming to fair in Lynden, tickets now available

LYNDEN - Tickets for the Gaither Vocal Band performance are now available. The band, featuring Gospel Music Hall of Famer Bill Gaither, will be performing at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.

Gaither is a renowned gospel music songwriter, having written more than 600 songs including "He Touched Me," "Because He Lives" and "The King is Coming," said fair manager Jim Baron. His television shows, including the "Gaither Gospel Hour" and "Gaither Family Music Hour," have aired on multiple networks since the mid-1990s, Baron said. Gaither has received five Grammy Awards, 28 Dove Awards and, in 2000, was given the Christian Songwriter of the Century award.

Tickets for the Gaither Vocal Band's performance are $30 for reserved grandstand seats and $40 for preferred seats. Fans can purchase tickets through the fair's Web site at northwestwashingtonfair.org, at the fair’s office, 1775 Front St. or by phone at 360-354-7777.
