LYNDEN - None of the Northwest Washington Fair grandstand concerts have sold out yet, but sales have been brisk for Gaither Vocal Band, Foreigner and Clint Black.
Those shows could sell out for this year's fair, which runs Aug. 17-22. The demolition derby sells out every year, said Jim Baron, fair manager.
Ticket prices do not include fair admission, which is required to attend grandstand events, but you can purchase a discounted fair admission when buying tickets. Online show ticket prices include fair admission.
The demolition derby will feature figure eights, a burn-out contest, a Honda smash and more, Baron said. The afternoon derby will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, the evening derby will begin at 7 p.m.
In years past, ticket sales for the evening demolition derby have greatly increased a few days before the fair begins, and sold out by the morning of the derby, Baron said.
Clint Black performs Tuesday of fair week, Emerson Drive on Wednesday, Foreigner on Thursday and the Gaither Vocal Band on Friday. All shows start at 7:30 p.m.
A new event, freestyle motocross stunts, will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22. Mike Metzger, known in the motocross community as the godfather of freestyle motocross, will perform.
Tickets to all grandstand events can be purchased online at nwwafair.com/tickets, by phone at 354-7777 or at the fair's box office, 1755 Front St.
