Friday thumbs: Solidarity against crime and unwise budget planning

Thumbs up - To residents who took part in the National Night Out Against Crime this week as a way to show solidarity in the face of too many petty crimes in our neighborhoods.

Thumbs Down - To Bellingham Mayor Dan Pike for saying he will consider creating new jobs at the city despite an expected budget deficit of as much as $2 million.
