Miller, Harpole go deep for Bellingham

The Bellingham Bells rode home runs from Danny Miller and Garret Harpole to a 4-1 victory over the Corvallis Knights on Thursday, July 17, at Joe Martin Field in a West Coast League contest.

With the win, Bellingham (26-7) extends its lead atop the WCL to 11 games over Victoria.

Seth Martinez picked up the win on the mound after throwing seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball, striking out three and walking none.

The Bells got their bats going early, with Miller knocking a two-run shot in the bottom half of the first off Knights starter Jackson Lockwood, scoring Scott Heath in the process.

Harpole added a two-run home run in the second, scoring Eric Webber and building Bellingham's lead to 4-0. Corvallis wouldn't get its run until the top half of the ninth inning.

The Bells are next in action at 7:05 p.m. Friday, July 18, at Joe Martin against Corvallis.
