Staff reportsJuly 17, 2014

The Olympia Fire Department rescued two window washers who were found hanging from their safety lines after a platform malfunctioned Thursday morning at a six-floor apartment complex.

According to the department, firefighters responded to a report of a fallen window washer just before 10 a.m. July 17 at the back side of the Capitol Terrace Apartments, 1517 Capitol Way South.

One window washer was bleeding from the head, according to the department. He was treated for a head laceration and transported to the hospital, the department said. The second window washer was helped down a ladder and was uninjured, the department said, adding that the washers were from Ace Window Cleaning.
