Backs Fleetwood for state Senate

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 16, 2014

Career politician Doug Ericksen doesn't believe in climate change due to human activity, despite almost 100 percent of scientists agreeing this is a serious issue for our planet.

I believe the reason for his position is because the corporate lobbyists that are financing his bid for re-election require their lawmakers to unconditionally support their ability to maximize profits.

Corporations consider campaign contributions to be an investment in their future and they demand results.

At the same time, Sen. Ericksen and his team don't support investing in our future by repeatedly failing to pass a badly needed transportation package.

Our failing infrastructure is a concern across the nation and Whatcom County is no stranger to this. We have many roads and bridges desperate for attention and the skilled workers to handle the job. We just need the political will to move forward.

Republican obstructionism and party loyalty are taking precedence over public safety and jobs.

A vote for Seth Fleetwood is a vote for all the people.
