Fire danger increases burn restrictions on Lummi Island

LUMMI ISLAND - The Lummi Island volunteer fire department is putting even more restrictions on burning due to very high fire conditions.

Recreational fires now can be no bigger than 2 feet in diameter. Beach fires must be below the most recent high tide level.

All recreational fires must have the minimum conditions outlined on lummiislandfire.com.

The newest restrictions went into effect Monday, July 14.

A burn ban for all of Whatcom County begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday. For more information about Whatcom County burning, call 360-676-6907.
