Albert leads Post 7 to 8-0 tournament win

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 11, 2014

Jake Albert threw a complete game, one-hitter to lead the American Legion Post 7 baseball club to an 8-0 win over Damage Baseball of Federal Way during the Centralia Showcase Tournament on Friday, July 11, in Centralia.

Albert went six innings, struck out three and walked one batter. His only hit allowed came on a bunt single coach Steve Slesk said the baserunner didn't beat out.

"He really pitched well," Slesk said of Albert in a phone interview. "It was probably one of his best starts of the summer."

Ernie Yake, Lucas Petersen and Josh Zavisubin each had multi-hit games and together recorded six of Post 7's 11 hits.

Post 7 plays next at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, and still has a chance to move on from its tournament division with a win and some help.
