Bells put on hitting display in 16-11 win


A night after the Bellingham Bells had their 14-game win streak snapped, the club put together 19 hits to beat Kelowna 16-11 during a West Coast League game Thursday, July 10, in Kelowna.

Bellingham's first three hitters - Dustin Breshears, Dallas Carroll and Scott Heath - went a combined 11 for 19 with six RBI and nine runs scored.

Bells starter Seth Martinez (3-0) earned the win, pitching 5 2/3 innings and giving up six earned runs on only three hits.

Bellingham led Kelowna 5-3 after five innings, but the Bells opened up the game with a seven-run top of the sixth, which featured 13 Bells coming to the plate.

The Bells (21-6) again play Kelowna at 6:35 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Elks Stadium in Kelowna.
