Bellingham Festival of Music presents Mozart comedy 'The Abduction from the Seraglio'

The Bellingham Festival of Music presents the concert version of Mozart's "The Abduction from the Seraglio," with guest conductor Whitney Reader, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Western Washington University's Performing Arts Center's mainstage theater.

"The Abduction" is a colorful comedy about the charming antics of Belmonte and Pedrillo, a master and servant who must rescue their beloveds from the harem of the Pasha Selim.

The role of Constanza will be sung by Lisette Oropesa, soprano. Joanna Mongiardo, soprano, performs the role of Blondschen. The role of Belmonte will be performed by Wesley Rogers, tenor.

A free pre-concert lecture begins at 6:30 in the WWU PAC Concert Hall.
