The Skagit Valley Highland Games, part of an annual circuit of Scottish competitions in the Northwest and lower B.C., begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Edgewater Park, 600 Behrens Millett Road in Mount Vernon.

Presented by Celtic Arts Foundation, the weekend event features solo bagpiping and drumming competitions, bagpipe bands, fiddling, traditional Scottish athletics, and Scottish Highland dancing through Sunday, July 13.

Day tickets are $13 adults; $10 seniors, students and military; $30 families or groups of four; free for kids 5 and younger. Weekend passes are $18 adults, $14 seniors, students and military; $40 families or groups of four. Details: 360-416-4934, celticarts.org.
