Bring your imaginary friend to this Village Books party

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 8, 2014

Honor your secretive playmate with an Imaginary Friend Party for children ages pre-kindergarten to 6 years old from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at Village Books, 1200 11th St.

Bring your imaginary friend - or not - for activities with Claire in the bookstore's downstairs Readings Gallery. Participants will read "The Adventures of Beekle the Unimaginary Friend" and other stories, draw pictures, and show information about imaginary friends.

Dan Santat's "Adventures of Beekle" explores the idea of imaginary friends in a "sweet, mind-bending gumdrop of a tale," according to The New York Times Book Review.

Bellingham Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
