THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJuly 7, 2014

SEDRO-WOOLLEY - A public memorial for search and rescue volunteer JB Bryson will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Sedro-Woolley High School football stadium.

While taking part in a recovery effort for a fallen hiker at Pilchuck Falls, Bryson fell approximately 100 feet and died from injuries sustained in the fall on June 28.

Instead of flowers, Bryson's family requests donations be made to the JB Bryson Memorial Fund, Skagit Search and Rescue Council or the Sedro-Woolley Fire Department Association. Donors can contribute to the memorial fund at any of the Skagit Bank branches, including those in Lynden and Bellingham.

Sedro-Woolley High School football stadium is located at 1235 Third St.
