Petersen's home run earns Post 7 a tie


The Bellingham Post 7 battled with the Boise Capitals to a 3-3 tie in 10 innings on Thursday, July 3, in Spokane.

Chad Richter pitched nine innings, walking none while striking out nine for Post 7.

Bellingham got on the board first with a two-run fifth inning before the Capitals scored two in the top of the sixth to tie it.

After Boise took the lead in the top of the eighth, Lucas Petersen hit a solo home run to force extras. The game was called after the bottom of the 10th.

Bellingham plays a double-header on Friday, July 4, against Missoula, Mont., and Napoleon, Ohio. Both games are in Spokane.
