A free 90-minute guided walk through Chuckanut Ridge, the forest known colloquially as the "Hundred Acre Wood," is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, sponsored by the Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation.
Rae Edwards, volunteer coordinator for the Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department, will lead the walk through trails in the area, which is the newest addition to the city's parks system. It's limited to the first 50 people who register.
It's an easy two-mile walk with an elevation gain of 80 feet. Parking is available along the east side of 24th Street south of Old Fairhaven Parkway.
Look for the signs and balloons near an access point to the Interurban Trail. To register, and for more information, call 360-389-3803 or email email@example.com.
