Bellingham local Brock Lemley was crowned the 43rd annual Dirt Cup champion after blazing through a rain-shortened Cup on Saturday, June 28, at Skagit Speedway.
Lemley was in the lead after Thursday night's racing after finishing second in the A-main and after the cancellation of round two due to heavy rain Friday night and Saturday morning, Lemley was in prime position to take home the trophy.
Lemley won the A-main feature on Saturday night, topping Rico Abreu, who started off the Cup on Thursday with a blazing qualifying time. Rain once again played a factor in the final round, shortening the race to 24 laps.
Thursday night A-main winner Jason Solwold took 10th. Other standouts include sixth-place Robbie Price, who was driving a 360 instead of a 410 and Willie Croft, who finished third. Kyle Hirst and Bud Kaeding rounded out the top five.
