Puget Sound and Point Defiance Park will be the locations of a summer camp next month for preteens and teens.

Metro Parks Tacoma will hold its “Sails and Trails” camp on July 7-11, July 14-18 and July 21-25.

The camp will begin in the morning with games on a beach, as well as fishing and hiking. The afternoon will be spent sailing on Commencement Bay.

The camp will meet from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The cost is $235 per child. The camp is for children ages 11-15.

Organizers recommend parents sign up their children early because space is limited. You can register at
