Slam's Wilkins selected IBL Player of the Week


Bellingham Slam guard Rico Wilkins was selected the International Basketball League's Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season, the Slam announced Thursday, June 26, in a press release.

Wilkins scored a combined 52 points in two games last weekend, including 27 during Bellingham's 139-118 win over the Seattle Flight.

Wilkins, who played his final season at Western Washington University in 2013, finished his second IBL season averaging 13.8 points per game.

Bellingham next plays in the IBL Playoffs and has earned a first-round bye. It will play either the Salem Sabres or the Seattle Flight at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Clark College in Vancouver.
