'Goonies' first up Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema series

The annual Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema series kicks off on Saturday, June 21, 2014 with preshow entertainment by teen rock band Odd Ones Out, followed by a screening of "The Goonies" at the Village Green in Fairhaven.

The annual Fairhaven Outdoor Cinema series kicks off on Saturday, June 21, with preshow entertainment by teen rock band Odd Ones Out, followed by a screening of "The Goonies."

The series runs every Saturday through Aug. 23, with movies shown on the 30-foot screen at the Village Green, 10th Street and Mill Avenue.

This Saturday, music by Odd Ones Out starts at 8:15 p.m. followed by the movie at dusk. Check online for showtimes as summer turns to fall.

People can bring blankets for the grass or low-back lawn chairs for limited seating on brick areas. There will be kettle corn and Chow Hot Dogs available for sale.

July 5: Quickdraw Stringband, "Gravity."

July 12: Bellingham Dance Company, "Finding Nemo."

July 19: Lost at Last, "Footloose" (1984).

July 26: One Fine Fool, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."

Aug. 2: Bellingham Youth Jazz Band, "The Sandlot."

Aug. 9: Kuungana, "The Lego Movie."

Aug. 16: Sci-fi trivia, "Star Trek into Darkness."

Aug. 23: Jaspar Lepak, "The Princess Bride."
