Dance Studio production pays homage to movies

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJune 18, 2014

The Dance Studio presents "A Night at the Movies," a dance production that celebrates cinema through the decades, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Mount Baker Theatre, 104 N. Commercial St.

The night begins with a red-carpet entrance meant for a "Belebrity," and a quick pose in front of the paparazzi. Guests will then be entertained by dancers as they do the Charleston with "The Great Gatsby," tap-battle through "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly," breakdance with "Beetlejuice," and playfully prance with "The Pink Panther."

The fast-paced production features all ages of dancers, including the Dance Studio's dedicated dads, who transform the stage into a high-flying acrobatic spectacle starring three of Whatcom County's graduating seniors.

Tickets, $14, are at 360-734-6080 and mountbakertheatre.com.
