Post 7 split double header

The Bellingham Post 7 split a double-header against the Northwest Sting on Tuesday, June 17, at Joe Martin Field, losing the first game 5-3 and winning the second game 10-1.

Despite the opening-game loss, coach Steve Slesk liked the way his boys played the entire night.

“We played solid all night against a really solid baseball club,” Slesk said in a phone interview. “We pretty much dominated them all night.”

The Sting scored five in the top of the seventh in the first game to top Bellingham late. Post 7 came back to gets its 11th win of the season in convincing fashion in the second game, scoring seven runs over the first four innings. Davis Hampton went 2 for 3, and Jordan Wittenberg picked up his first win of the season.
