Bells fall despite late comeback

The Bellingham Bells fell to the Kitsap BlueJackets 10-8 Saturday night, June 14, at the Kitsap Fairgrounds in a West Coast League matchup.

Bellingham fell to 5-3 overall, seeing a three-game winning streak come to an end while Kitsap improved to 5-3, ending a three-game skid.

The BlueJackets got to the Bells' starter Gabe Cramer early, plating two in the second and one in the third to end his night early. Where Kitsap opened the game up, though, was in the bottom of the fourth when it scored four off Taylor Gunn, who managed just 1/3 innings in relief.

Bellingham answered with two in the top of the fourth after Walker Olis doubled in Danny Miller and Dallas Carroll. Carroll would add a sacrifice fly to score Lou Della Fera in the fifth, and Dylan Garcia's two-run home run in the sixth made it 7-5 before Kitsap scored three in the bottom of the seventh.

Bellingham made a late run in the top of the ninth, scoring three runs, but wasn't able to complete the comeback.

Miller ended the game 3 for 5 with two runs scored. Olis, as well, had a solid game at the plate, going 3 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI.
