Seattle author Kay Rae Chomic shares her novel, "A Tight Grip: A Novel about Golf, Love Affairs, and Women of a Certain Age," at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Village Books, 1200 11th St.

Much of the golf action in her novel was taken from Chomic's competitive golf experiences. Her main character, Jane "Par" Parker, discovers the transformative power of adversity, and seizes options to evolve as a person, an athlete and a best friend as she is driven to win a golf tournament she hasn't been able to win in 10 years.

Bellingham Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news.
