Bellingham Bells beat Kitsap, win third straight


Bells starting pitcher Aaron Sandefur enjoyed a strong outing, and Bellingham used a four-run second inning to gain an early lead as the Bells pocketed their third straight win with a 6-4 West Coast League series-opening victory against the Kitsap BlueJackets on Friday, June 13, in Kitsap.

Sandefur threw six innings of three-run ball, gave up six hits and struck out eight, earning his first win of the season for the Bells (5-2).

Bellingham left fielder Dylan Garcia went 2 for 3 with three RBI. He hit a three-run double in the second, which was followed by a Dustin Breshears RBI single that gave the Bells a 4-3 advantage.

Catcher Eric Webber drove in a run in the sixth, putting Bellingham in front 5-3, and the Bells added another run in the eighth.

Bellingham faces Kitsap again at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in Kitsap.
