Bellingham Bells overcame early deficit for 9-8 win

The Bellingham Bells overcame a first-inning, five-run deficit to beat Klamath Falls 9-8 in a West Coast League game Wednesday, June 11, at Joe Martin Field.

The win was the second straight for the Bells (4-2), who won the three-game series.

Bells catcher Jimmy Sinatro went 3 for 5 and had a two-run RBI single with the bases loaded and two outs in the third inning. Shortstop Colby Woodmansee hit a three-run homer in the fourth, and outfielder Walker Olis had a pair of hits and an RBI.

Bellingham pitcher John Albert picked up the win in relief, throwing two innings of one-hit ball. Klamath Falls reliever Kyle Detwiler took the loss.

Bells starter Eder Erives struggled early, giving up five runs in the first, but Bellingham answered with a run in the second, three in the third and three in the fourth.

The game was tied at 7 before Bellingham scored back-to-back runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh and held on late for the win.
