Los Angeles-based indie-folk band The Show Ponies brings its high-octane blend of old-time country music delivered with soulful lyrics in a family-friendly concert, held outdoors with festival seating, at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Kids' World, 1628 Main St., in Ferndale. Audience members are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic dinners.

The Show Ponies came together in 2011 when Texans Andi Carder and Clayton Chaney, who handle lead vocals as well as strings, joined musical forces and then added classically trained musicians Jason Harris (guitar and banjo), Philip Glenn (fiddle) and Kevin Brown (percussion).

A $5 donation per person is requested. Parking is free.

Their new album, "We're Not Lost", was funded entirely by crowd sourcing. Hear and read more about The Show Ponies on Facebook or theshowponies.com.
