OLYMPIA: Learn how to camp at Priest Point Park

People will have the rare opportunity to camp at Priest Point Park on June 21 as part of the Great American Backyard Campout.

Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation is teaming up with the staff from Centro (formerly Alpine Experience) to teach basic camping skills. They will show participants how to set up camp and will share tips on outdoor cooking. There will be nature-based activities for all ages.

The main dinner entree and breakfast will be provided. Tents, sleeping bags, and pads can be provided upon request on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event is from 3 p.m. June 21 to 10 a.m. June 22. The park is at 2600 East Bay Drive NE, Olympia.

The cost is $49 per person; it’s free for children 2 and younger.
