Bellingham's boys' and girls' golf teams had a postseason to remember.
Both programs won 2A state championships in their respective classes, and now the Red Raiders have two more accolades to add to their collection: Bellingham's Cody Roth and Jenn Paul were named All-NWC players of the year for their achievements this season.
Bellingham's Dave Bobillot and Squalicum's Chad Herman earned All-NWC Coach of the Year honors for their respective teams' performances, as well.
Paul, after placing second at the 2A state championships with rounds of 82 and 78, respectively, led the Red Raiders to their 12th state title in 13 years. She was the top scorer in the conference with a per-round average of 75.
Roth was equally as impressive at state, finishing third after firing a two-day 144 (73-71). Bellingham ran away with the state title after having fellow first-teamers Nick Nolan, Taylor Paul and Rees Kruhlak all finish in the top 29 at Chambers Bay.
Likewise, Madi McNeely joined Jenn on the first team after recording a per-round average of 83.6, tied for second in the conference with Lynden's Emily Ming. McNeely finished fourth at state, while Ming finished 12th.
Lynden's Ezra Arneson was a standout performer at the 2A boys' championships after opening the tournament with a 72, eventually finishing fifth and leading the Lions to a fourth-place finish. His teammate Alex Crabtree, who finished 23rd at state, was a second-team selection.
Lynden Christian's Lincoln Olson led the 1A Whatcom County performers with a sixth-place finish after a two-day total of 152 (79-73). Blaine's Devan Boucher finished 18th (160, 81-79), and Mount Baker's Kenneth Wilson finished 21st (161, 80-81) at state - all of which earning first-team nods.
Rounding out the girls' first-team picks were three Squalicum golfers Maddi Atwood-Knudson, Courtney Flannery and Christina Kim. Atwood-Knudson put together a strong run at state, placing 16th (191, 96-95), while Flannery finished 31st (204, 101-103).
Mount Baker's Emma Brown earned first-team honors after posting a per-round average of 101.2 throughout the season.
Second-team selections on the boys' side included Ferndale's Daniel Erickson and Tanner Lester, Lynden's Collin Barclay, Mount Baker's Dennis Kashubin, Sehome's Thomas Mankle and Squalicum's Tavo O'Connell.
On the girls' side, Bellingham's Alex Ferrier, Jaycie Roth and Emma Lochridge earned second-team honors to go along with Mount Baker's Natalie Verry and Baylee Backstrom, Squalicum's Jordan Flannery, Sehome's Hannah Peterson and Ferndale's Cienna Semsak.
