THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJune 7, 2014

The Bellingham Post 7 baseball team stayed undefeated with a 7-3 victory over the Skagit Sox on Thursday, June 5, at home.

David Stealy earned the win on the mound after giving up eight hits, walking one and striking out four in six innings. Stealy also went 3 for 3 with two RBI.

Pete Pennylegion and Josh Zavisubin were both 2 for 4 with two RBI and Joey Akers was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Post 7 coach Jeff Bearden said his young 3-0 team is playing well to start the season.

"We went young this year and they have been getting the job done," Bearden said in a phone interview of his team that has five high school sophomores. "It's nice to open 3-0 because the more we play the better we are going to get."
