Author shares Alaska adventure at Village Books

Erin Kirkland, author of "Alaska on the Go: Exploring the 49th State with Children," will be at Village Books, 1200 11th St. at Mill Street, at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

Kirkland, a journalist and Anchorage resident, offers an insider's tips and tricks for traveling by car, cruise ship, or dogsled. She is a contributing editor to Alaska Magazine, co-host of the "Alaska Travelgram Radio Show," and publisher of AKontheGO.com, a website dedicated to family travel and outdoor recreation in Alaska. Her stories have appeared in the Anchorage Daily News, the Huffington Post, KTVA-TV in Anchorage, and on the Alaska Public Media network.

Several favorable reviews of the book are posted at amazon.com and a handful of people have it on their "to-read" lists at goodreads.com.
