Weiser River Trail Bike Ride: Bikers will ride the upper-most 28 miles of the trail starting near New Meadows and going to Council. The ride is mostly downhill or on flat terrain on a dirt and gravel path. BioBlitz Festival and Kids Fishing Day: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, 13751 Upper Embankment Road, Nampa. Guided bird and photography walks, insect-collecting expeditions, speakers, interactive exhibits, children's crafts and activities, more. In addition, free fishing day at Gotts Point from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids can participate in fishing-related activities and crafts and practice fishing. Idaho Whitewater Association's Safety Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Main Payette River (Banks to Beehive Bend take-out). There will be a variety of practice stations, each offering important safety training, strategically situated along the banks of the river. Open to kayakers, rafters, cat boaters and their passengers. To access all of the IWA manned safety stations, you must launch your boat from Banks, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Starting at 1 p.m., there will be hourly raffle drawings held at the Beehive Bend take-out for those who stopped and participated at all of the safety stations. Participants will also be treated to an IWA sponsored barbecue at the take-out that will run until 5 p.m.
