Bellingham Post 7 gets 2-1 win


Bellingham's Post 7 wood-bat baseball team fought out a 2-1 win over Skagit Baseball Club on Monday, June 2, at Janicki Fields.

Bellingham got a sacrifice fly from Dakota Jones to score the first run in the third inning, but Skagit answered with a run in the bottom of the third.

In the sixth inning, Josh Zavisubin scored on a passed ball to give Bellingham the winning run.

Noah Rawls got the win after pitching the final four innings, striking out four and giving up no hits. Drew Lomsdalen pitched the first three innings.

"Our pitchers threw well," Bellingham coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. "We played good defense."

Bellingham plays on Wednesday, June 4, at Whalley, British Columbia.
