Visits state parks free for three days in June

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJune 2, 2014

For three days in June, people can visit Washington state parks for free.

The free days commemorate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 7, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Free Fishing Weekend June 7-8, and National Get Outdoors Day Saturday, June 14.

The Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park on free days. Free days don't apply to overnight stays and rented facilities.

Three state parks in Whatcom County will have the free days: Birch Bay, Larrabee and Peace Arch.

Bellingham Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
