World music festival coming to Maple Falls

The opening concert of the Mount Baker World Music Festival features Jovino Santos Neto, with his world jazz interpretations of great Brazilian tunes plus his own compositions, performing at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the East Whatcom Regional Resource Center in Maple Falls.

The opening concert of the Mount Baker World Music Festival features Jovino Santos Neto, with his world jazz interpretations of great Brazilian tunes, plus his own compositions, performing at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the East Whatcom Regional Resource Center in Maple Falls.

Irish band Crumac - Dale Russ, fiddle; Tom Creegan, uilleann pipes and whistles; and Mike Sounders, guitar and vocals - follows at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 8.

Concerts are $15 each; tickets available at Mt. Baker Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, Maple Falls Café and Crossroads Grocery & Video; and through Brown Paper Tickets.

The festival features concerts through July 6.
