Free tours of Lynden Cemetery start May 31


LYNDEN - Free public tours of historic Lynden Cemetery start at 1 p.m. May 31 and continue every Saturday through mid-October. The cemetery is at the southeast corner of Guide Meridian and Front Street.

Hosted by Lynden Pioneer Museum and Cemetery District 10, the tours include information about pioneers and other historic people buried in the cemetery, how public cemeteries are managed, and the meaning of grave marker decorations.

The cemetery was recently added to the Washington Heritage Register, a list of historically significant sites throughout the state, including 21 cemeteries.
