Man robbed at gunpoint near St. Joseph hospital


BELLINGHAM - A robber was still at large after taking someone's wallet at gunpoint around 12:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, outside St. Joseph hospital.

The victim had left the hospital and was walking along a trail west of the hospital when a man he had never seen before pointed a silver snub-nosed revolver at him and demanded his wallet, police said.

The victim ran back to the hospital and called police, who brought a police dog to the scene.

The wallet was later recovered on the trail but some cash and credit cards were missing, police said

The suspect was described as a white, about 5-foot-8 with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
