Free talks, demos about Chinese tea coming to South Whatcom and Ferndale libraries

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMay 21, 2014

Laurie and Charles Dawson will lead a presentation about traditional Chinese tea at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at South Whatcom Public Library, 8 Barn View Court, (Sudden Valley Gate 2).

People will see tea infusion tools demonstrated and learn the benefits of their use, and learn about the history of tea and an overview of the traditional orthodox tea styles - white, yellow, green, oolong, red/black and pu-erh. The Dawsons founded Whatcom Tea Enthusiasts Association, a free tea-tasting club that meets monthly at Lynden.

They also will talk about spring teas from around the world at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Ferndale Library, 2007 Cherry St.

Both events are free, and include samples of teas. Details: 360-305-3600.
