Senior travel: Bellingham center offers array of trips, from Seattle Mariner games to adventure in Costa Rica

The Whatcom Senior Tour Program is sponsoring these trips in 2014. Call early for cost, availability and reservations.

Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field: Watch the Mariners compete against the San Diego Padres on June 17, against the New York Mets on July 23, or against the Texas Rangers on Aug. 27.

June 9-12, Vancouver Island: Visit Victoria and such attractions as Butchart Gardens, quaint Chemainus and scenic Cowichan Valley.

June 28: "Porgy & Bess:" See the 2012 Tony Award-winning musical at Seattle's 5th Ave Theatre.

Aug. 19-24, British Columbia: See B.C. mountains, plateaus and north coast waterways by rail dome train and by sea cruise.

Oct. 31-Nov. 9, Costa Rica: Visit Tortuguero Green Turtle Research Station, Monteverde Cloud Forest Sky Walk and the Sarapiqui Rainforest, and enjoy pristine beaches.

Sept. 2-6, Chicago: Visit the Art Institute of Chicago, enjoy a Chicago River boat tour and see other art, history and architectural landmarks.

Sept. 14-16, Alaska: See the Inside Passage, including the Klondike Gold Rush town of Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, aboard the Grand Princess of the Princess Cruise Lines.

Sept. 28-Oct. 2, Utah, Nevada: Explore canyon country with visits to Zion National Park, to Valley of the Fire State Park in the Mojave Desert, and to Cedar Breaks National Monument. Stay at a casino resort.

Dec. 8-12, New York City: With a guide's help, visit such landmarks as Madison Square Garden, Greenwich Village, the So-Ho district, Little Italy, Central Park and Rockefeller Center. Also, see a Broadway show and cruise New York Harbor.
