Meridian, Magnusson perform well at sub-districts

Meridian's boys' track and field team finished second and easily beat the other four Whatcom County teams in the Class 1A Sub-District Tournament on Friday, May 16, at Lynden Christian High School. The Trojans finished behind King's.

Meridian qualified 22 athletes to tri-districts. The Trojans got a strong performance from Collin Magnusson, who won the 1,600 and 3,200.

Blaine had event wins from Josiah Westbrook in the 100 and 400 and moved on nine athletes.

Lynden Christian didn't win an event but qualified nine athletes.

Mount Baker's Travis Lindsey won the 110 hurdles and the Mountaineers will be sending seven people to tri-districts.

Nooksack Valley qualified Aaron Bosscher in the high jump.
