Sport: Boys' golf

Year: Junior

What he did: Roth's two-day total of 143 at the Bill Egber's Memorial Tournament earned him a second-place finish on May 9. The Red Raiders also finished second in the tournament behind Skyline, with Roth's total being the lowest score ever shot by a Bellingham player in the event's history.

ANNA RATZLAFF

School: Meridian

Sport: Girls' golf

Year: Junior

What she did: Ratzlaff posted her best round of the season after shooting a 104 at the Whatcom County Championships B Division on Monday, May 12, at the Grandview Golf Course. Her previous-best round of the season had been a 122, bettering that mark by 18 strokes Monday. The score of 104 earned her a second-place finish, and a spot into tri-districts.

Coach's quote: "Anna's approach to golf is inspiring. She is dedicated to improvement, yet committed to having fun. While she seeks to do her best, she never gets down on herself, and is encouraging to those she plays with." - Steve Lawrence
